Economics Research
The Economics Research Division (ERD) of the Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) was started in 1961 by late Prof. Y.Nayudamma, the architect of CLRI and a great visionary who has greatly contributed towards building and developing the Modern Leather Industry in India. This discipline was considered necessary and appropriate in a commodity and industry oriented Research Laboratory. It has a unique function of scientifically assessing the trends in the industry and provide inputs for the dimension of Leather Research and prioritisation of projects.
