Business Processes Division
Major activities
Business Processes Division is the nodal point and has been coordinating all the business related activities of the Institute. This Division has been playing as the link between the Institute and outside agencies in connection with the activities related to business promotion and capacity building. The services provided by this Division may be categorized as follows.
Management of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
- Inculcating vibrant IP culture among the researchers in this Institute
- Motivational measures towards generating stronger IP portfolio
- Executive functions of the Statutory Committee on IPR management (SCIM)
- Procedural formalities relating to IP protection
Information Liaison and Business Promotion
- Coordinating external funded projects
- Preparation of Technology profiles
- Information dissemination
- Technology transfer
Business Links
- Nodal link with various organizations in marketing the technologies and consultancy services of the Institute.
- Prominent organizations having close association include Asia Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), New Delhi; Technology Bureau for Small Scale Enterprises, New Delhi; Consultancy Development Centre (CDC), New Delhi; Confederation of Indian Industry (CII); Federation of Indian chambers of Commerce and Industry, (FICCI) NewDelhi; Leather Chemical Manufacturers Association (LCMA); National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), New Delhi; Technology Information Forecasting & Assessment Council (TIFAC), New Delhi; State level Councils for Science and Technology, etc
- Coordination of CLRI's participation in the following three major International Fairs, relating to Leather and allied area

- Organizing CLRI stall in different National and International exhibitions from time to time in connection with marketing the Institute's technologies and services

- To attend technical enquiries from entrepreneurs
- To participate and present CLRI Technologies and Services in workshops and Buyer- Seller Meets
Web Based Publicity
- Ensuring web based publicity in association with the business agencies
Customer Satisfaction Evaluation
- Feedback of customers from completed consultancy projects is collected annually based on four important factors -objectives, time schedule, output accomplishment and usability of innovation/output
- Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) is arrived on 4 x 4 point scale, based on the feedback
