Information and Documentation Services
Information System, Information resources and an effective information retrieval & dissemination play a vital role for knowledge dissemination in leather and allied fields to support R&D community in CLRI for sustainable development in leather Industry. The CLRI, being a R&D institution, having close contacts with the leather industry, the importance of information and its dissemination was well recognized and the documentation activities triggered off in 1966.
To achieve one of the objectives of National Information Centre for Leather and Allied Industries (NICLAI), i.e., to identify, design and develop appropriate information system and services to cater to the needs of the user community, the Documentation activities suitably modified. Since the introduction of NICLAI concept and now the Documentation Department has become one of the important components of Information System and Services towards leather industrial growth and development in CLRI.
